Accent Decorative Painting :: Faux
Sumptuous Peach Faux Finish
This two-color ("peach fuzz" and "sumptuous peach") faux finish utilizes a sea sponging technique applied to a recessed ceiling and picture moldings to give a sumptuous look to an elegant peach-toned dining room.

Here is a close-up look at this delicate faux finish applied inside of the room's picture moldings.
Rustic Faux Finish over Raised Plaster Medallions - Designed
This is an example of a rustic colorwashed and stippled faux finish applied over two styles of raised plaster medallions. The medallions were created using one store-bought stencil and one stencil that I designed and hand-cut myself.
This one is made with the custom designed stencil.

This medallion was created with the purchased stencil.
Faux Finish - Mocha Colorwash
This family room was dramatically changed from white to this inviting mocha colored colorwash. The soft brush strokes and warm color lend a chenille-like appearance to the walls that coordinated perfectly with the existing hardwood floors.
Faux Finish - Light Green Colorwash
A light green glaze (Sherwin-Williams "Artichoke" added to glazing liquid) was colorwashed over an off white base coat. It gave a soft warmth and relaxing atmosphere to this dining room.
Faux Finish - Dusty Pink with Irridescent Shine Sponging
This is an irridescent glaze sponged over a dusty pink base coat. It had the effect of foil wallpaper. In a small room (such as this bathroom) the shine gave the illusion of a larger space.
Faux Finish - Colorwash
The walls in this room were colorwashed with two colors of glaze (mocha and taupe) over a cream base color. This gives the walls the appearance of leather or old parchment and it is a very warm look. This colorwash technique can be done in any color combination. A serene atmosphere with depth can be achieved if cooler colors are used.
